The VIN number which is also known as the chassis number or a serial number of the vehicle is a 17-character alphanumeric code. Every vehicle has a unique VIN Number which is assigned by the manufacturer of that vehicle. Every VIN character has unique information about the vehicle. A VIN number does not consist of the letters Q(q), I(i), and O(o) to avoid confusion with the numbers 0 and 1.
