Does your VIN Number have less than 17 characters?

Is your vehicle from Europe?

There are 17 characters in a VIN Number.

The letters “I“, “O“, or “Q“ will never be found in a VIN Number.

Quite often, insurance records and title information has the VIN Number with incorrect characters. The best way to check the VIN number is to check the vehicle door jam or windshield of the vehicle. The VIN number will be clearly visible in both locations.

It is highly recommended to fix the incorrect VIN Number on your insurance or title records to avoid costly issues in the future.
